Birth Support Package

As your birth doula, I will support your journey into parenthood by providing physical, emotional, and informational support. I aim for my care to be individualized, trauma-informed, and rooted in principles of transformative justice.

Some things we can work on together include:

  • Emotional:

    • Connecting with your wants, needs, fears, and joys– while tuning out excess advice, information overload, and unhelpful opinions

    • Holding space for and normalizing the wide range of emotions and experiences you may have

    • Offering non-judgmental guidance through your decision making process during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum

    • Developing a postpartum care plan so you feel fully supported as new parents

  • Informational:

    • Providing evidence-based information, so you feel confident making informed decisions surrounding your pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum experience

    • Developing birth preferences for any outcome (we’ll have a plan A, B, and C), so you can feel as prepared as possible for this experience that inherently is unpredictable and requires release of control

  • Physical:

    • Building your and your support person’s tool box of comfort measures and coping strategies prenatally to prepare you for labor and postpartum

    • Offering and assisting with comfort measures throughout your labor and birth including positions, massage/comforting touch, positions, movement, aromatherapy, breath work, affirmations, etc.

    • Facilitating conversations with your care provider to slow non-urgent matters down, give you an opportunity to ask questions, reflect, and make informed decisions when we arrive at decision making points

    • Normalizing what is happening during labor to maintain a calm environment for you and your support person(s)

Birth Packages include:

  • Text, phone, and email support from time of hire through 3 months postpartum

  • Monthly informal check-ins via text, phone call, video chat, or meeting up for coffee or a walk! The better we know each other, the better doula I can be

  • Two prenatal visits in your home

  • On-call from 38 weeks until baby arrives

  • Virtual support during early labor

  • In person support when you feel things intensify and you want my support until about 2 hours after baby arrives

  • One postpartum visit in your home to check in on how you’re doing physically, emotionally, and mentally

I want doula services to be accessible to as many people as possible. For this reason, I offer a sliding scale pay rate. Please see table below and reach out if you have any questions!
