About me

As a doula, I feel honored to be welcomed into people’s birthing and postpartum experiences, where I have the privilege of witnessing and supporting individuals during one of life’s most transformative events. My role allows me to provide holistic support for your entire family throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I find immense joy in seeing my clients discover and embrace their strength, power, and confidence as parents.

I am a white, queer, neurodivergent woman, and survivor of sexual violence.

I attended my first birth in June 2021, and have since supported nearly 40 birthing people.

Clients and friends alike often tell me I have a very calming presence, and I bring that energy and some doula magic into your birthing space.

Before becoming a doula, I worked at a rape crisis center in child sexual violence prevention and education. That experience helped develop my strengths in advocacy and emotional support. I have also worked as an EMT and have a B.S. in Biological Engineering from Cornell University.

Doula work is the perfect bridge of my scientific background, calming nature, love of people, health care, and advocacy.

When I’m not supporting childbearing people in Austin, you can find me doing partner acrobatics, on a walk admiring flowers, at a pottery wheel, connecting with friends, cuddling my cat, or cooking up some fun, mostly delicious, food creations.

Core beliefs and values

Autonomy.

I believe in the practice of radical consent. Not the kind that is a check box item or a signed form, but the kind that is an ongoing conversation focused on building trust in relationships and re-building trust in yourself. One of my life goals to create a culture of consent within reproductive health spaces.

Wholeness.

Humans are messy, transitions are hard, and I am here to support you through it. You deserve support, love, and care. During our time together, I will remind you that you are a whole human with wants and needs. Though your desires and priorities change when you become a parent, they do not go away. Let’s explore how we can honor yourself, your needs, and your relationship in the postpartum time.

Transformative Justice.

As humans, we will all make mistakes. Our punitive, carceral society is unjust, harmful, and makes healing difficult. I am a proponent of learning how our actions impact others, taking accountability for harm that is caused, and working towards repair and healing.

Complexity.

Pregnancy, regardless of the outcome, and postpartum bring up so many emotions including joy, fear, anxiety, disbelief, and grief. I non-judgementally hold space for all of these feelings. Every birth and postpartum experience is different. When faced with a decision, we can all read the same research and come to a different conclusion about what feels right to us. I use this concept to remove judgement from my practice.

Accessibility.

You deserve the support that you need. I am dedicated to making my services accessible to many. This is ongoing work. I recognize that everyone has different needs, so there is no way I could be accessible and safe for all. I have a network of amazing doulas that I can refer people to if you have a need I am not able to meet.

Cultural Humility.

The way this shows up in my work is constantly evolving as my understanding and learning about justice deepens and evolves. I am not perfect in this, no one is. I am willing to be called in or called on. I center queer and trans folks in my work. I aim to be anti-oppressive including anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-diet, trauma-informed, sex positive, and HAES aligned (health at every size).
